Hanu ’de pe Stirbei is the restaurant of the ibis Styles Bucharest City Center Hotel; this place is the heart of the hotel, an urban refuge for the fast paced travelers. On the initiative of the architect Bogdan Stoica from Arhi Grup, Ceramic Sparrow produced fifteen lamps with windows electrically lit with warm LED bulbs. They are arranged in three accent light groups in the area with the sofas. The shape and hand-drawn designs on these lamps are integrated in the decor with natural textures and geometric patterns, completing the cozy and authentic atmosphere.

For Ceramic Sparrow team it was a joy working this month to make a series of palaces representing the famous Carturesti Carusel building in the Old Center of Bucharest. One part of brooches is drawn with pigment under the glaze and another part with gold. This wonderful edition can be found exclusively in Carturesti Libraries.

We have been working with Carturesti for many years (our products can be found at the Romania design section in Carturesti) this being the first place to expose and market our products.

TROPHY OF THE UNICA AWARD CEREMONY

At the first Unica Award Ceremony edition, the trophy offered to the winners was signed by Ceramic Sparrow / November 2016

porcelain trophy

We were glad to collaborate with Unica magazine, we design and produce the trophy offered at a great gala. The starting point was the woman's symbol, and with the thought of Alphonse Mucha's images on the long dresses, we designed a small (30cm) glazed porcelain statue. The gold birds decoration was in line with the brilliance of the event.

AVON INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Ceramic Sparrow exposes fragrance-inspired lamps./ November 2016

porcelain lamp

We have been selected to be part of a small array of designers who exhibited at the fourth edition of the Avon Inspiration Challenge. This edition has the theme LIFE is NOW, inspired by LIFE Perfume Collection, created specifically by Kenzo Takada for AVON, and focused on the artist's creative path from idea to subject. The Ceramic Sparrow team has designed two luxury perfume-inspired lamps influenced by Christian Lacroix's perfumes. It was a challenge we responded with much pleasure and interest.
